This is a central library of SKKU Suwon Campus. This 21st century library, seen from exterior, says something about SKKU Library. The library’s layered roof elevation represents an open-book. In addition library’s roof plan represents SKKU court ginko tree (600 year old two Ginko trees at Myeongnyundan, SKKU Seoul Campus) leaf. The roof’s double readability of the ‘open-book’ and ‘leaf’ makes the exterior shape of library more or less like a jelly bean with a brim-layered hat. Inside, the central atrium space soars. At the edge of the atrium, several transparent study rooms are hung, exhibiting real-time group talks and presentations. On the first floor, there are Interpark Bookstore and hundreds of computer workstations for students. From this floor, glass elevators that views the atrium takes the rider to diverse platforms of rest and study. On the fifth floor, there is a viewing conservatory. It has pros and cons. It allows 180 degree view towards the Sun Moon Lake, however due to its openness, of using glass wall and roof, its space generates a green-house effect during the summer. Nevertheless, it holds the crown of transparency and (deep and wide perspectival) connection towards the lake that is quite rare in the Seoul metropolitan area university setting.

I am a graduate student of Sungkyunkwan University, I love this place for many reasons, for strong research, accommodation, facilities but, most importantly I like this place for Samsung library. I would say, It is one of the best modern libraries in the world with all different kind of facilities like borrowing up to 20 books for graduate for a month, that's actually pretty cool. Also, you can borrow DVDs and watch inside small Movie cabins or if you guys are more then you can book the cinema room inside, also you can use media rooms for making video clips or photo shooting or editing. If books are not available in the library you can request from other libraries in Korea or you can request a purchase. That's actually pretty awesome, best possible environment to study and enjoy life.

Being the graduate student here. Samsung library is the most outstanding building in Sungkyunkwan University. There are genres of books here include books and online books. This library was invested by Samsung, the most popular corporation in Korea, so It is equipped with brand new and modern technologies. Students can borrow and return book by the automatic system which is located in the front desk, and all will be implemented by themselves. On top of that, there are variety of reading areas, you can choose your own private corner to reading, studying or even relaxing. Cinema, waters podium, multimedia room, relaxing area with lazy chair, conference room, computer room, good view, best restroom, everything is ok. A lot of choices. Just check it out if you have a chance.
