주합루 서쪽에 있는 부속건물이다 . 처음에는 서재로 건립되었다가 규장각 보관도서가 증가하자 책을 보관하는 서고로 쓰였다. 현재 주합루 권역은 공개를 하지 않아 부용지에서 멀리 바라만 볼 수 있다.
