Sobaeksan National Park (Samga) Sobaeksan Mountain is located in the middle of Baekdudaegan Mountain Range. The two-jirak-gil, which completely encircles Sobaeksan Mountain, it is easy to walk and has the best natural scenery. It takes 60 minutes, 3.7km from Samga Parking Lot to Samga Bungyo Bridge to Geumgye Reservoir to Pension Village. Climbing course: Samga Parking Lot VISAVirobong, Yeonhwabong, Heeradae, and Heebang Support Cente 14.6km for 5 hours.

Sobaeksan national park has the 4th highest peak in South Korea called Birobong. You can climb from many villages, but I climbed from Handemy village in Danyang that has the 2 shortest ways to Birobong peak. One way is kinda rocky with beautiful trees and plants. And the other one has mountain valleys and requires a few expert climber skills. No matter what way you choose, still, you can see a variety of plants that change every meter while climbing up. Also, at the top of the mountain there a lot of azalea flowers and if you climb in May, you can see them blooming.

one of the most beautiful place in south Korea so far.I visit thia place for 3 time,every time I enjoyed the beauty of mt sobaek.I wish to visit for more.the summit point of mt sobaek called birobong & the elevation is about 1436 meters. their have more 7 peak above 1000 meter in this national park along with birobong.I suggest everyone who travel to south korea please visit this place you will enjoy spectacular view for life time.

Beautiful national park. We went hiking here about end of March. It's still quite cold (down to -4C!) but very calm and peaceful. In the higher altitudes you can still find ice and snow which makes the scenery especially beautiful and picturesque.

겨울 소백산은 세상 아름다워요 어의곡 탐방지원센터에서 올라가서 천동 탐방지원센터로 내려왔는데 올라갈 때는 어렵지만 내려올 때는 금방 올 수 있어 넘 행복했어요! 비로봉 능선도 참 아름답고 소백산은 겨울이에요!

경북과 충북을 가르고 있는 산 답게 가깝고도 먼 두 지역의 특성을 잘 섞어있는 듯한 소백산. 그곳에는 다양한 매력들이 걷는 내내 볼 수 있는 곳. 아쉽게도 중국에서 가득매운 미세먼지 때문에 아쉬운 마음 다음기회로 달래며 돌아갑니다.
