I love this museum! The exhibitions are mostly free and change frequently. The surrounding neighborhood provides a calming stroll and a museum visit can be complemented nicely with a visit to Deoksu Palace across the avenue. Currently, we’re stuck with coronavirus, so here are some photos of the street.

Full of contemporary artworks. I'm not a fan of art but i appreciated this place. It has several floors you can visit and specific areas allow you to view clips of the artists and their works. Overall a unique and amazing art experience.
Fantastic museum filled with a large collection of artifacts in the permanent exhibition which is free and sometimes a special exhibition which costs a small amount. The free permanent exhibition does rotate periodically and there were exhibiting a few very special artists while I was there. Be aware some of the galleries don't allow photographs. The special exhibition was so large that they couldn't fit it in to one room so be prepared to navigate around the building as part of the same special exhibition. The ticket is only good for one entry and you may not reeneter after exiting so make sure to keep your ticket close by as you will need it to access the different sections. Centrally located and easy to get to either by walking or with public transportation. Storage lockers are available although they do require 100 won deposit which is returned when the locker is returned. They do have a coin machine handy which dispenses change for larger coins. Although if you had no cash, you wouldn't be able to store items. Check this place out and plan to spend a couple hours. Take your time in the special exhibition as you won't be able to enter each part as you exit. The special exhibition when I went was extremely impressed and there was a piece that took an entire warehouse to put together where each panel was painstakingly assembled together from smaller sections and each was hand painted with the aid of a computer for guidance. Extremely impressive!
Beautiful place to visit. Especially while walking in the blazing heat and sun. It's a refreshing experience to come inside to an air conditioned environment. Vert nice artifacts about Korean history. It has a nice cafe which we ordered some tea and coffee. Great experience.
A stunning open space filled with thought provoking modern art. I loved the exhibitions on Palestine, very refreshing and unexpected to see. There’s a darling little cafe that serves a great grain latte and lovely biscuits on the ground floor, be sure not to miss it when you go. There’s no entrance fees and there’s bathrooms and lockers on the first floor (basement floor?) that are also free. There are stunning park views as well, it’s located right next to a palace so I’d suggest catching the daily changing of the guard while you’re in the area
When you think about it, life in Korea is very non-typical. A super wealthy country on the brink of nuclear war at any moment... this collection perfectly captures how Korean artists express what it’s like to grow up and live in this environment. Many pieces are bold and sharp and overflowing with imagery. A nice way to get a balanced understanding of contemporary Korean culture
The place is located near Gyeongbuk Palace. Architecture is adopting the west style. I went there for DreamWorks exhibition. Come on weekdays at noon and you will own the place. Ticket box was available outside the building. The souvenir shop is located right after the entrance but it is recommended to enjoy the exhibition first and visit the gift shop at the end of your gallery visit.
Nice museum! It is right in the heart of the Seoul near the Deoksugung palace. You can add it to your trip, though week day visit is advised for your best experience. Exhibition may vary.
