Crossed this bridge numerous times. 1987 I WAS STATIONED 9miles south of this bridge. For 9 months of the year. August to October we stayed on the north side of the bridge. Working. In the DMZ with 2nd Infantry division. 1/31 mechanized Infantry battalion we became the DMZ Police. First three weeks at Guard Post Colurer. A mile behind Pan Mon Jum then pulling recon patrols by day and setting up in anAmbush at night. To stop infuriating north Koreans the last part was reaction force to back up patrols if the should have a problem. I retired from the army with 20years 15months later. All that may have changed.

Great place to visit, overwhelming history and places. You have to come and see this
Old railroad bridge that connected the North and South.
Fascinating and sombre place. An experience I'll never forget.
Well worth a visit to put the border between North and South Korea into perspective
tour is so fast definitely need one hour
Must visit DMZ border area for a detailed tour. Highly recommended
Somber and decorated along the way with unification drawings. There's two aspects of bridge, one dead end leading to the bigger one, and then the half-bridge (used to be whole) with an observation post above the river marsh (paid entrance though). Along the way, there's a prominent old train to marvel at as well.
