진도 삼별초의 유적중 하나인데 지금의 건물과 배치는 조선시대에 증축한 것으로 알려져 있다. 현재는 복원중인데 그 속도가 꽤나 느리다. 특별한 볼거리늠 없지만 석성을 따라 성벽위로 한번 걸어가며 둘러 볼 만은 하다. 외곽담장과 마을 편으로 아치현 석다리가 운치있다.
